The Impact Indicator was designed to illustrate the potential student outcomes and economic benefits of implementing Positive Action. The effect rates are derived from the data analysis performed during the randomized-controlled trials in Hawaii and Chicago. These values have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The citations for each outcome are provided in the hyperlinks located next to the outcome.
These rates are not static or universally applicable as they will fluctuate based on the conditions of the school or district and implementation fidelity. We have identified the six major factors that affect the potential efficacy of an implementation. This instrument naturally incorporates some inherent subjectivity. The design intent is to inform these calculations of current conditions and improve accuracy by adjusting known variables. A more advanced model will be released at a later date that will continue the simulation modeling the varying effects of fidelity, training and dosage.
Several assumptions were made to perform some calculations. These assumptions are based on middle-of-the-road estimates from a variety of sources. They can be edited to improve accuracy for your locale.
There are many other factors that would affect the outcome of implementation that cannot be assumed or estimated here.
