Students face an ever-increasing number of challenges during their development. Decades of research indicates that school-based programs have the greatest potential to provide youth with positive and healthy development opportunities. Positive Action has been designed with these goals in mind and achieves effects in all the domains that affect student development.
Positive Action lessons include activities for both the body and mind. Students learn the importance of good health to academic success and develop a desire to continually improve themselves.
The research indicates that the effects of the program are diverse and long-lasting. For too long, education and youth development initiatives have been focused on narrow objectives that neglect important areas of development.
A pending journal article will feature new analysis that details the Positive Youth Development outcomes from two randomized trials.
